The England Junior Home International team enjoyed a great training session at Warren Edge where they recorded some quality flounders and bass.

David Graham, the team’s manager, was delighted with their performance.

Some of the better fish landed included a nice bass for Tom Wartnaby and a brace of flounders for Joseph Smith.

On the Isle of Wight, Dave Morris bagged a brace of small-eyed-rays with the best weighing 8lb 14oz while fishing at Sandown.

Tony North recorded a mixed catch of bass, flounders and turbot, also from Sandown. Dave Chidzoy romped to victory during the second round of the Bells of Hythe catch & release four match series held along the deep water section at Magazine Lane.

He recorded 396cm of pout and whiting. The pool for the longest fish was won by Mark Sherwood with a 33cm whiting. Others: 2nd Malcolm Stote 365cm, 3rd Dave Middleton 346cm, 4th Anthony Davies 344cm, 5th Darren Newland 326cm, 6th John Brown 300cm.

The deep water section at Browndown was the setting for the latest Rovers Tackle pegged midweek catch & release open shore competition.

Dogfish, flounders, whiting, pout, and rockling supplied some lively action. The prize for the longest fish was won by Paul Cross (52cm dogfish) followed by Andy Smithson (47cm dogfish) and Darren James (34cm flounder). The total length section was won by Chris Clark with 29 fish measuring 588cm. Others; 2nd Pete Jones 492cm, 3rd Dan Mogridge 412cm, 4th Ian Golds 334cm, 5th Mike Johnson 300cm, 6th Pete Farrell 298cm.
