Hampshire’s new overseas player, Kyle Abbott, has been called up to South Africa’s squad for the crucial third Test against Australia.
South Africa levelled the three-match series in Port Elizabeth despite Wayne Parnell being unable to bowl in the final innings because of a groin injury.
Seamer Abbott replaces Parnell and will win his second Test cap if he plays in next week's Cape Town decider, a year after taking 7-29 on debut against Pakistan.
The 26 year-old is in good form after taking an impressive 12 -125 against Cape Cobras last week in South Africa’s domestic first-class competition.
He is expected to be available for Hampshire for the second LV County Championship match of the season.
