Hampshire cyclists Dani King and Jon Dibben have had their places confirmed in the Great Britain team for this month’s World Championships.

The pair are among a group of 17 riders who will travel to Cali, in Colombia, for the 2014 event, which takes place from February 26 to March 2.

London 2012 gold medallist King, from Hamble, is part of the women’s endurance group.

Totton’s Dibben has been chosen for the men’s endurance squad.

British Cycling’s performance director, Sir Dave Brailsford, said: “I’m pleased with the results we’ve had at World Cup level this season, both from the established riders and the younger ones breaking through, and I think we can go into the World Championships with confidence this year.

“With qualification for Rio 2016 expected to begin this year, this World Championships will allow us to lay down a marker to see where we are at against the best in the world and assess what work needs to be done.”
