Mascarenhas signs Big Bash deal
Dimi Mascarenhas will extend his career by playing in the Big Bash League for the Hobart Hurricanes.
The former Hampshire captain played his last game for the county earlier this month, but always hoped to earn another T20 contract elsewhere.
Mascarenhas played two games for the Melbourne Stars as an international contracted player last year, but has an Australian passport and has not played international cricket since 2009, so has signed for the Hurricanes on a domestic contract.
Hobart's Cricket Operations General Manager, Andrew Dyke, said: “We are very fortunate to secure Dimitri’s signature for BBL|03.
"There were a lot of teams that expressed serious interest in signing Dimi, and we’re very happy that he chose to come to Blundstone Arena.
Mascarenhas, 35, said: “I'm very excited about joining the Hurricanes this year, and looking forward to playing a huge part in a successful campaign”
