A Winchester school is holding two child dyslexia awareness events next month.
The events are being hosted at Western Church of England Primary School in Browning Drive, Fulflood on March 1 and March 3.
The Empowering Parents and Carers Project (EPC) is holding sessions to provide information, support and resources to parents and carers of children with dyslexia and to encourage coordination between family and schooling.
Dyslexia affects around 10 per cent of the population to varying degrees, and could affect as many as 1,566 children in Winchester aged five-16.
A drop-in session for parents starts at 6.30pm-8.30pm on March 1, with an awareness presentation following on March 3 from 10.30am-12.30pm. This if immediately followed by two advice forums at 1.30pm-2.30pm and 3pm-4pm.
