Winchester Rotary Club staged a charity concert featuring musicians from Peter Symonds College.
The concert in Milner Hall, Parchment Street, included work by Vivaldi, Bach and Glazunov and was performed by students on the Hampshire Specialist Music Course at Peter Symonds College, under the musical direction of Malcolm Porter.
The concert last Thursday (JAN19) was also supported by the Mayor and Mayoress of Winchester. Barry Lipscomb congratulated the musicians on their performance and said: “We are incredibly lucky to have such talented young musicians in our midst and their performance tonight has enthralled us all. It is a real privilege for me to be able to attend such events as this”.
At the end of the concert, Winchester Rotary president David Farthing presented Roger Owens, organiser of the summer series of music masterclasses at Peter Symonds , which a cheque for £250 in sponsorship of the series.
