POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a street theft in Hampshire last week.
A 26-year-old man was walking along an alleyway between St James Terrace and Airlie Road on Monday, January 16, between 9.15 and 9.30am.
He was approached by another man who stole his bag which contained £60, bank cards and a pair of Nike Air Max trainers.
The thief is described as in his late 20’s, around 5ft 11ins, of medium build with short, dark hair and wearing a pair of black and green Nike Air Max trainers and a blue sports jacket.
DC Steve Roman, investigating, said: “Robberies such as these are thankfully rare occurrences. We have carried out a number of enquiries to identify the man. I’d like to hear from anyone who saw a man fitting this description in the area at the time.” Anyone with information should contact DC Roman at Winchester Police Station on 101, via the website at www.hampshire.police.uk/internet/contact/message_officer.htm or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
