THREE masked men beat a man up in his own home in a village near Winchester.

A 50-year-old man answered his door in Kings Worthy and the men forced their way in, pushed him along a hallway and attacked him.

It’s thought one assailant used an extendable truncheon to hit the victim in the face and body.

The attackers were aged between 20 and 30 and had their faces covered by scarves.

It happened on Thursday January 19 at Harwood Place at around 8.40pm.

Det Con Steve Roman, of Winchester CID, said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who saw three men running in Harwood Place or along Pound Road last Thursday evening.

“The man suffered cuts and bruises to his head and face in the attack, as well as possibly dislocating a finger. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.”

Certainly an unusual incident- no apparent motive such as theft, etc.
