Shawford residents came together to celebrate their Elderflower Day last month (MAY28) at Shawford Parish Hall.
The people of Shawford spent the day learning about the elder tree and its flowers, while enjoying refreshments including home-made elderflower cordial and elderflower fritters.
Celia Cox, a local botanist, organised the event and will also be leading a series of Edible and Medicinal Plant Walks at Shawford, St Catherine’s Hill and Crab Wood throughout June and July.
Walks last between one and two hours and cost £5 per hour. For more information contact cox.hear@btinternet.com or call 07860 178516.
