A WINCHESTER birthday-boy arrived at his party in style on a specially-made trike.

Bruno Vitorio, who was born with agenesis of the corpus callosum and scoliosis, which limits his motor functions leaving him unable to walk.

But charity Sophia’s Make a Child Smile Foundation stepped in to present him with the trike to help his mobility, ahead of his recent sixth birthday.

The charity was founded by ex-Southampton football player Nicky Banger and his wife Stephanie, whose daughter Sophia was born with cerebral palsy in 2004 and needed a trike to move around.

Since then they have helped many families in Hampshire with children with similar afflictions to help them make life more manageable.

Bruno’s father Jorge, 46, of Bereweeke Avenue, Weeke, said: “It will change his life a lot because he is still not walking but he can now exercise his legs and it will give him more strength.

Mrs Banger added: “It was the first time I’d met Bruno and when he was sitting on the trike it was great to see him smiling. I hope it will help him a lot.”
