POLICE officers feared for their safety after challenging a Winchester man, a court heard.
John Paul Gillingham, 31, admitted threatening behaviour at Black Swan Buildings, Southgate Street, Winchester on July 28.
Gillingham, of Southgate Street, admitted threatening behaviour towards PC Simon Pascoe.
Magistrates in Basingstoke heard that officers believed they were in genuine danger because of his aggression.
Gillingham was jailed for 12 weeks with the sentence suspended for 18 months. An 18-month rehabilitation activity requirement order was added for up to 15 days, as as well as a £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
