WINCHESTER housebuilder Metis Homes has announced it is to become a long-term sponsor of local community charity, Emmaus Hampshire. The award-winning housebuilder will contribute to the Bar End-based charity both financially and physically, as well as offering advice and support as part of the ongoing partnership between the two organisations.

Emmaus Hampshire is a social enterprise community for the homeless, providing meaningful employment through retail, catering, distribution and facility management services along with personal development for all individuals, which can help secure their entry back to independent living.

Nigel Samuels, chief executive of Emmaus Hampshire, said: “We are delighted that Metis Homes have taken the time to really understand our project and that they felt compelled to support our work, with a long term partnership. We are particularly grateful for their management support in addition to the financial assistance in helping our Community.”

Adam O’Brien, managing director at Metis Homes added: “We have been watching and valuing the great work Emmaus has been doing for a while and, as a housebuilder with access to a multitude of resources, we wanted to be able to help the charity in its relentless and admirable goal to reduce homelessness in our home county.”
