AS part of Winchester Fashion Week which runs from Monday April 24- Saturday April 29, the School of Art have launched Botanica at The Brooks Shopping Centre.
Winchester School of Art have curated a unique space that merges the botanical world with the fashion world in a fresh and spectacular way.
Using recycled paper, students have created shimmering butterflies camouflaged within the garments, vibrant dangles of shredded paper as florals and many more enchanting garments.
There are big and bold flowers in the designs, from wallpapers to scarves and cushions. There are all inspired by sustainability and use recycled materials and the collections aim to have a sense of 'magpie nostalgia'' with radiant and beautiful colouring.
The organisers feel that variety and quality of the work on show at The Brooks Shopping Centre and at the end of the week on the catwalk at Winchester Guildhall show that these students are independent thinkers, creative problem solvers and ambitious and exciting designers.
The launch event of Botanica was this Monday and it is now on exhibition at The Brooks until Friday.
