THE M3 is set to undergo a host of motorway improvements this week, causing travel disruption along many parts.

Smart motorway improvements, bridge strengthening and resurfacing works will see the motorway closed through the night in various locations, starting Monday (February 27).

A 50mph speed limit on both carriageways from junction two to four and the southbound carriageway junctions will also be closed between 8pm and 5.30am as the motorway undergoes smart improvements, which is aimed at reducing traffic and congestion through one speed limit.

On Friday, the M3 link to the M25 at junction 2 will be closed overnight between 8pm and 7am, with three diversions also in place.
