MORE city councillors have been seeing how the Trinity Centre works by spending a morning in its kitchen.

A group of Conservatives gave followed the Liberal Democrats and city council staff to help in the kitchen whilst the chef is away.

Not to be outdone by any other local group of ‘master chefs’, the team of Tories were scored a 10 out of 10 by the manager of Trinity Centre, Sue McKenna, for the lunch they cooked for 60 people.

The aroma of their chicken curry and macaroni cheese filled the centre in Durngate Place, and requests to take portions home were fulfilled too.

The team, which included Rose Burns, Sue Cook, Kim Gottlieb, Lisa Griffiths, Fiona Mather, and David McLean, the Deputy Mayor of Winchester, spent the day also learning more about the centre which offers counselling, job support and respite amongst a range of services.

Fiona Mather, who is both a City and County Councillor, and whose ginger fruit pudding was a great hit, said: "Sue and her excellent team at Trinity provide wonderful support for many of our less fortunate and vulnerable residents. My colleagues and I will do our best to ensure that we, in turn, support the centre in any way we can. I hope that we will be invited back to cook again soon."
