Two unfortunate drivers fell victim to the wrath of Storm Doris today in Winchester.

The storm which has been causing issues across Hampshire has seen high winds batter the county.

The tree crashed down on two cars parked in Garbett Road in Winnall.

The cars affected were a silver Toyota Yaris and a white Vauxhall Corsa.

Fortunately, neither cars had any passengers inside, when the incident happened at around 4pm.

The driver of the Toyota Yaris, was shocked to see his car damaged, and quickly sought help from ID Hair Design who let him use the phone.

When the Chronicle spoke to him, his car was being taken away and the tree had been cleared from the road.

He did not want to comment on the incident however.

Isla Dixon who runs ID Hair Design said she heard the tree fall onto the cars.

She said: "I just heard a big crack. It was quite fortunate nobody got killed or badly hurt.

"Apparently a lady nearby told me that she reported the tree before to the council because there's some fungus growing on it."

She said she helped the driver of the Yaris who came in the hairdressers for help.

She added: "He asked to come in and make some phone calls, we offered him a cup of tea, he was quite shaken."
