A WINCHESTER woman was nearly jailed for twice defying a driving ban.
Susan Pope, 40, admitted driving a 54-reg Ford Focus whilst disqualified and also with no insurance on Friarsgate, Winchester, on Christmas Eve.
Pope, of Fromond Road, Weeke, was jailed for ten weeks but magistrates in Basingstoke suspended the sentence for 12 months.
The court heard it was the second such offence in a year.
Pope was ordered to undertake 180 hours unpaid work, pay a £115 victim surcharge and be further disqualified for six months.
