A GROUP of charities and community groups from the Winchester area got to grips with the art of photography.

The session was part of Community First's skill share scheme, where firms pass on their skills to the voluntary and charity sector.

The workshop was run by Belinda Harvey from Harvey Studios based in Chandlers Ford who has more than 20 years experience in photography.

The workshop covered a range of topics such as lighting, setting the scene, considering the impact your photo will have on your audience, and getting the best out of your subject.

Chris Phillipson from Balloonmouse Computer Training who attended said: “This was an excellent, well organised workshop, our tutor shared her wealth of expertise in practical terms, no confusing technology used. We all had the opportunity to take photos ourselves. I have learnt lots of useful tips I can put into practice.”

Belinda Harvey said: “It has been great to help such worthwhile charities, it has been good to put ideas into practice and for delegates to hear the theory, take the pictures and to review the results.”
