A MAN has been arrested after a woman died following a fall from the window of a flat in Hampshire.
The woman plunged from the third floor of a building in Portsmouth at around 9.40am yesterday.
The 40-year-old woman fell from the window of a flat in Clarendon House, Clarendon Road, Southsea.
She was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance but died from her injuries.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall and have arrested a man in connection with the incident.
He has been bailed until March 24.
A man was seen in the street at the time of the incident who told someone to call police and officers are keen to speak to him.
Anyone with information about what happened is asked to contact them on 101 quoting Operation Tone.
Detectives say that at this stage they are not linking this with a similar incident in Salisbury Street, Southampton, on Saturday, February 11.
