Watch manager at Romsey Fire Station, Antony Hurle said: "There's been a road traffic collision involving two cars, our role was to deal with the guy in the Honda and he has been transported to hospital."

Mr Hurle warned drivers to be aware of the sunny conditions and glare from the sun and said that wearing a seatbelt lessened the impact for the driver in the Honda.

Mr Hurle added: "This is the second crash we have had this morning. The message we want to put across is the driver's injuries are lessened by wearing a seat belt. We would urge drivers to be aware of the low sun and adjust their front mirrors and their speed accordingly."
