WINCHESTER is among the best constituencies for low unemployment according to new figures.
House of Commons figures revealed 0.7 per cent of the working age population is unemployed.
The figures for March 2016 put Winchester 623rd highest, out of 650 constituencies, with the UK's average claimant figure at 2.5%, and show improvement from the February total.
Winchester MP Steve Brine said: "There is never an ounce of complacency but these really are very encouraging figures and testament to the dynamic local economy that continues to create jobs.
"I am particularly pleased to see the numbers claiming JSA among 18-24 year-olds continue to fall."
