TWO brothers wanted in connection with an acid attack on a Southampton mum have been arrested.

Billy and Geoffrey Midmore were among three people arrested by police in Kent on Monday night.

The brothers were detained along with a 33-year-old woman at and address in Gillingham in Kent.

The arrests were made at about a 10.45pm.

All three have been taken into custody and are being brought to Hampshire shortly for questioning.

The dramatic development comes just hours after police issued a £5,000 reward for any information to help track down the brothers.

They were wanted after a horrific attack on 37-year-old Carla Whitlock in Guildhall Square near Turtle Bay restaurant.

The mother-of-six sustained extensive burn injuries and may never regain the sight in her right eye.

She has been released from Southampton General Hospital but is still coming to terms with her injuries.

Both brothers are from London but are known to have links in Southampton, Basingstoke and the South East.

Hampshire police had launched extensive enquiries across the county, Kent and in London working alongside police forces in the South East area following the attack at 9pm on Friday, September 18.

The arrests came as a result of a joint operation by Hampshire and Kent Police.
