AN "IMPORTANT witness" seen on CCTV with a missing Hampshire teenager has come forward to police, detectives have confirmed.

The young man was seen walking with 15-year-old Jessica Horton along Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth near the town's railway station hours after she was reported missing on Friday.

The man has provided officers with information, Hampshire Constabulary tweeted this morning.

The man appears to be white, wearing a dark baseball cap, white top, dark trousers, and white trainers.

Detective Inspector Tim Ireson, senior investigating officer, said: “It's not clear how long he was in Jess's company, but we believe he is an important witness with information about her movements, possible whereabouts, and intentions.

“Hampshire Constabulary continues to appeal directly to Jess to tell police that she is safe and well. We repeat our reassurance to Jess that she is not in any trouble.

“Witnesses or anyone else with information about Jess are encouraged to report what they know to detectives.”

Jess went missing from Wesley Methodist Church in Fromond Road, Weeke, Winchester at around 8pm on Friday, September 18.

She left without any money for food, drink or shelter. She also suffers from asthma and does not have any medication with her.

She is described as white and about 5ft 3ins with a petite build and long, light brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Northern Investigations Team by phoning 101, quoting reference number 44150 324746.

Two men seen in a previously issued CCTV image who officers wanted to speak to who were seen near Jess at Winchester railway station have come forward.

A spokesman said they provided officers with some information as they did speak with Jess on the train.

However, officers are satisfied the men have had no further involvement with Jess and they are no longer involved in the investigation.
