PERSISTENT breaches of court orders has led to the jailing of a Winchester shoplifter twice in a month.
Christopher Peake, 34, of Sussex Street, admitted stealing a bottle of wine, worth £10.99 from the Co-op on City Road on August 5.
Magistrates in Basingstoke jailed him for 14 days and ordered he pay a £80 victim surcharge and £150 criminal courts charge.
Then on his release from Winchester Prison he was quickly in trouble.
Peake admitted stealing a bottle of cider from Iceland in Middle Brook Street on August 12, threatening behaviour and assaulting PC Daniel Carter.
Magistrates jailed him for 28 days.
