THE cameras are rolling at a Winchester school after pupils opened their state-of-the-art new media suite.
Children at Kings' School were joined by broadcast giant Sky to cut the ribbon on the £15,000 studio.
A green screen, audio decks, recording equipment and soundproofing will allow students to produce high-level photography, films, broadcasting and online podcasts.
The gear can be taken out of the studio and pupils hope to broadcast live from across site.
Staff say the project was inspired by pupils' visits to Sky's Skills Academy in London, using their equipment to create films and news packages.
Kings' School Association presented a cheque of £10,000 towards the project after two years of fundraisers include a murder mystery evening, quiz night and summer fete.
Jan Radnedge, head of media studies, said: “This is the start of a very exciting story for Kings' staff and pupils. We intend that all areas of the school will benefit from this tremendous resource.”
The studio was tested by staff last month to film a dancing parody of Taylor Swift's pop hit Shake It Off.
