A TRIATHLON to raise money for a cancer support charity is set to return to Winchester.

Pedal Paddle Pace will see sporting enthusiasts cycle 20km from Winchester Guildhall to Palmers Field off Doman Road, followed by a five kilometre run to Hockley Viaduct.

Tomorrow's race finishes with a two-kilometre kayak along the Itchen Navigation Canal.

It is the 10th year of the event, which has grown from 50 entrants to more than 500.

And organisers, Macmillan Cancer Support, are hoping it will net at least £25,000 - £5,000 more than last year.

People can enter in teams or individually and there will be a family picnic at Palmers Field afterwards.

Denplan has supported it to enable the purchase of additional kayaks and therefore allow numbers to grow.

Volunteers are being sought to help marshal the route - those interested should email info@winchesterppp.co.uk.
