CHILDREN’S author Helen Moss spent the day at Ropley Primary School where she took assembly and held workshops.
She also announced the winner of her national Phoenix Code Competition – Year 6 pupil Serge Wynne.
He will now be a character in Helen’s next book, as a professor with a bearded lizard on his shoulder.
Parent Elizabeth Lewis, who invited the author to the school, said: “Serge had no idea he was going to win.
“Everyone had a lovely time – she was absolutely great.”
The visit was part of a week of book-orientated events organised by the school’s parent teacher association.
