WINCHESTER apprentice has won a professional mechanic’s qualification the hard way after his mother was diagnosed with cancer.
Tony Buller beat the odds to qualify as a bicycle mechanic despite his mother suffering from brain cancer.
He had to build a complete bike from a frame to pass the Cytech 2 test, fine-tuning the brakes and gears.
His effort was branded faultless by the examiner.
Mr Buller was taught at Cytronex, a new bike shop in Bridge Street, by senior mechanic Mike Groves, who has mentored many trainees over 26 years.
