LOLLYPOPS, cannibals and sea creatures – an unusual line up is set for the stage as villagers prepare for their second annual pantomime.
Following the success of Cinderella last year performers from the Crawley Players have been warming up their vocal chords for the all-singing all-dancing Robinson Crusoe.
Some 40 locals, including children as young as two, have been cast this year and due to high demand another date has been added.
Joy Baker, of the organising committee, said: “Everyone has been very enthusiastic. We have got people who were in it last year, new faces, and people who are acting for the first time.”
Landlady of the Fox and Hounds pub Sally Wood has written and is directing the show, which Joy says makes the script personal to Crawley.
Local business Homelodge Buildings has created a purpose-built stage to fit in the village hall, and estate agents Knight Frank have sponsored the pantomime.
Robinson Crusoe is at Crawley Village Hall from February 6-8. For tickets go to jumblebee.co.uk/crawley-village.
