POLICE have urged for witnesses to come forward following an assault on a 20-year-old woman.

The incident happened in High Street in Winchester at around 1.30am on Sunday, November 16, when the woman was also racially abused.

She was walking with her friends when they were approached by a group of young men.

The victim was then grabbed by the neck and pulled backwards before one of the men started to throw coins at her making racist comments.

PC Annelisa Cass, said: “The victim has been left very distressed by what has happened to her, and is now too frightened to go out in Winchester.
