JUDGES at a national hairdressers competition were tickled pink, blue and any other colour when three Winchester trainees took gold in their respective fields.

Megan Holford, Jasmine Hurst and Helen Anderson took home a handful of prizes at the Haringtons Hairdressing Group’s 12th annual awards.

The three competed head-to-styled-head with a number of contestants from across the south creating a range of cuts and colours to be judged by some of the industry’s leading professionals.

Errol Douglas MBE, president of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, Jayne Lewis-Orr, editor in chief of the Hair and Beauty Group/Hairdressers Journal, Nathan Walker, Trevor Sorbie’s international technical director, and Gill Pope, educational director for L’Oreal brands, named the three Wintonians ahead of their peers during the awards, held at Maidenhead’s Norden Farm Centre for the Arts.

Ms Holford took second place in the L’Oreal Award for Colour and was named one of four winners in the Autumn Colour Project. She was also a finalist in the Hairdressers Journal Front Cover Photoshoot Competition along with third year trainee Jasmine Hurst who then went on to be named her Year Group Winner.

Trainee stylist Helen Anderson was also thrilled after being named one of four winners in the Autumn Colour Project.q

Judge Errol Douglas said: “Haringtons have put on a wonderful display and the standard of hairdressing is incredibly high. These stylists are the future stars of the hairdressing industry.”
