THREE budding entrepreneurs from Winchester have taken a step back from their start-up to help a local charity.

Graphic designers and self-acclaimed “web wizard” twin brothers, Dan and Rob Grover, 21, have been running Yuno Media with their friend Joe Ford, 22, for the last 18 months.

After running a video production company in Eastleigh the twins joined Joe, who ran a computer repair and web design business in Scotland, and the three decided to form the new company - now operating from Winchester Basepoint.

Now a fairly established business, they decided to put their skills to the test and designed a new website for Winchester Young Carers in just 24 hours.

“Not only is it giving a service that's usually very costly, for free, to a great charity, but it's also challenging us as designers and we were extremely excited to give this a go,” Dan Grover said.

In one of the first of its kind the event was streamed live on the internet giving viewers the chance to have a direct link to the charity's Just Giving page.

Each time a target was hit with increasing donations the boys were forced to perform forfeits - including wearing onesies or bobbing for apples - all the while trying to build a new site.

“Other milestones saw us have a much needed coffee, or perform the can-can,” Mr Grover added. “We had some awesome charities come to us and it was extremely hard to choose, but we felt Winchester Young Carers does amazing work for the children and parents of Winchester and highly deserve a brand new site.”

The total amount raised was £435.29 which was matched by Basepoint.
