CITY planners have thrown out plans to build two large homes between Shedfield and Waltham Chase after fears that they would help to join the villages together.
David Kirby wanted to bulldoze four barns in Stares Farm, Solomons Lane, and replace them with semi-detached houses.
Winchester City Council rejected the scheme because it would be “hard and intrusive” and damage the countryside environment.
Shedfield Parish Council previously warned that the homes would “add to coalesce” between villages.
Mr Kirby’s previous application to build three homes on the site, which is currently used for storage, stables and blacksmithing, was rejected last year.
