A SKI company near Winchester has been shortlisted for an international award.

Twyford-based Ski 2 has been chosen for a second year in a row for the Best Specialist Ski Tour Operator as part of this year’s World Snow Awards.

Co-owner Roger Walker said: “We received a Highly Commended award in last year’s awards, but it would be great to actually win it this year.”

The company, which has run for 15 years, operates its own British ski school in Champoluc as well as the Ski 2 Penguin Club - a nursery for younger guests.

“We are a small independent company focussed on giving our customers exactly what they want,” Mr Walker added.

”We allow our guest to start their holiday on any day that they want, to stay for any number of nights and, because we let them arrange their own flights, they can choose their own departure//arrival airports and at what time they fly.

“We do however include private arrival transfers to meet them from any flight that they choose to arrive on giving our customers the convenience of booking their own flights, but the luxury of being met by one of our own staff and transported straight to their hotel in one of Ski 2’s liveried vehicles.”

The awards will be decided by a public vote.
