A TWYFORD charity is teaming up with a Winchester pop-up shop to host a special event this weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday (July 26-27), from 10.30am-4pm, the charity I Am Super Capes will set up shop in the increasingly popular Pitfields store, at the Brooks Centre, to launch the first of many ‘Come and Sew a Cape’ pop-ups.
Everything required is already provided, including fabric, machines and cotton. Kathy Potter from Trouve Vintage will also be on hand to give out information on techniques.
Miriam Ferris, one of the charity’s sewers said: “Sewing these capes is a lovely but humbling experience. As a parent, it’s especially upsetting to think of any child in distress. It’s a privilege to think that a cape I’ve helped to make is bringing some comfort and joy to a child in need.”
