A COUPLE in Winchester were stopped by police after a number of mothers complained about them getting too close to their babies.
The two were questioned on Upper Brook Street by police after shop managers said female customers had complained that the pair were being too friendly with their infants.
It is unknown which shops made the complaints about the incident last Thursday at approximately 3.15pm.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said officers took the couple away to help with further enquiries but were not arrested over the suspicious activity.
They said: “We were called to reports of suspicious incidents early in the afternoon. We were happy no offence had been committed and so no further action was taken.”
“During the checks there was an offence for immigration and the 35-year-old male was subsequently arrested.”
