A WALK in the sunshine is one of the simple pleasures that many often can’t squeeze in to a working week.

But now the National Trust has come up with a neat solution so people can enjoy the gardens at Mottisfont in Romsey midweek.

Starting this month, the property is staying open until 8pm on fair weather days.

Every Monday morning in June the property team will be assessing the weather for the week and matching up evening openings with days with good weather.

They will then post details on their social media pages and website.

Every year in early summer thousands of visitors flock to the gardens to see the internationally renowned National Collection of old-fashioned roses, and this year the head gardeners are hoping for a bumper display.

The last entry for late entry is 7.30pm, and for more information go to nationaltrust.org.uk/mottisfont.
