CHILDREN enjoying the Easter break have been taking part in a city-wide hunt.

Egg-shaped clue cards displaying a letter were hidden in shops right across the High Street enticing children of all ages to take part in this year’s Winchester Bunny Hop.

Children scrambled in search of letters high and low to work out the mystery phrase at the Discovery Centre in a bid to win the ultimate prize – a 400g giant milk chocolate egg.

The event, organised by the Winchester Business Improvement District, ran until Saturday (April 19) and saw dozens of children taking part over the two-week break.

Prince’s Mead School pupil Molly Rayden, nine, said: “I came in last week to do this so this is my second hunt. I like the way you have to go around the whole of Winchester because it’s good exercise as well.”

Molly was joined by her school chum Evie Bulstrode, who turned nine on Tuesday (April 15) – both of whom love white chocolate above all else – and Evie’s brother, six-year-old Woody.

Any children who wish to take part can download their quiz sheet online at visitwinchester.co.uk or can collect them from the Winchester Tourist Information Centre.
