ESMS is a unique family of independent schools for boys and girls, based in the heart of Edinburgh and provides a very special education to the 2,700 children on their roll with values at the heart of everything they do. The aim of the schools is to help the boys and girls, aged from three to eighteen, to believe in the values and to learn to live up to them in all that they do both as children and throughout their adult lives.

The schools are comprised of Stewart’s Melville College, The Mary Erskine School and the Junior School and all three are characterised by high academic standards and by fine reputations in sport, the performing arts and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Stewart’s Melville College is this year’s Independent Secondary School of the Year as voted by The Sunday Times and The Mary Erskine School won the same accolade in 2012.
