NEW sessions for budding performers with learning disabilities started in Winchester last month.

Recently featured on BBC Three documentary Growing Up Downs, Winchester based Blue Apple Theatre are offering two new sessions a week.

The first, Fit Steps Strictly Style, teaches dances from celebrity talent show Strictly Come Dancing, on Monday evenings from 5.15pm until 6.15pm.

On Thursday evenings, from 5pm until 6.45pm, there are sessions for those who want to try their hand at melodrama.

The schemes are sponsored by Winchester City Council sports development, and are both held at the Tower at Kings’ School on Romsey Road.
