Winchester jeweller offers lessons to beginners after receiving grant from Council
A WINCHESTER jeweller has received a grant to help offer private tuition to those wanting to make their own jewellery.
Daniel Musselwhite, has been given a micro business development grant by the city council to help him set up his own workshop and offer small courses to anyone wishing to make anything from rings, necklaces and earrings.
He is offering couples-only sessions in which brides and grooms can design and create each other’s wedding bands using specialist materials including precious stones and diamonds.
“I started teaching after speaking to a friend of mine. I went along and gave it go and I loved it. People get a lot of it and equally I get a lot out of them getting a lot out of it!
“When I heard about what the council were doing I thought ‘I’ve got all this space so why not give it a go’? It’s paid for three more benches and it gives the chance for people to make something unique to them. They come away with a high-quality piece they’ve created themselves and it’s quite special.”
The Winnall Valley Road workshop can take up to seven people at any one time. For more information visit danielmusselwhite.co.uk.
