FEEDBACK following a controversial exhibition of Kings Worthy developments have resulted in more displays being planned.

A number of people reportedly said they felt the exhibition had not been sufficiently advertised which the council has responded to by organising further dates.

The first exhibition takes place on Thursday, December 12, at Tubbs Hall on Fraser Road between 3pm-9pm and again on Friday, January 3 at the same time and place.

The developments, which forms part of the city council’s local plan, include sites at Lovedon Lane, land at the former Kings Worthy House and the contentious site of Top Field at Hookpit Farm.

Kings Worthy Parish councillor, Sarah White, said: “As a result of a number of people feeling that we had not advertised these well enough we are intending to hold exhibitions on a further two dates.

“These are, as before, for the outstanding approximate 25 properties out of the target 250 needed to be built by 2031 which we have been advised are unlikely to fit into the current built settlement boundary.

“We have asked the three developers to present their proposals for between 25 to 50 properties on their plot of land, along with their suggestions for use of the remaining green space from a recreational point of view.”

“We would like to give parishioners a further opportunity to see the boards as opposed to on a computer screen.”

The closing date for comments on these sites is Friday, January 10 2014.
