Winchester visually impaired offered support through workshops
HELP is at hand for people for people suffering from sight loss next month at the Guildhall in Winchester.
Action for Blind People will be running a course, between October 10-December 19, to help those with visual impairment, their family and friends, aimed to increase confidence offering practical skills and guidance.
Kathryn Arnold, from Action for Blind People, said: “Losing your sight doesn’t mean losing your independence; although for someone newly diagnosed with sight loss, the future can seem daunting.
“We are moving away from ‘doing things for them’, to a culture of helping and working in partnership with people who have lost their sight. It’s about gradually restoring self-belief, confidence and independent living.”
