THE Highways Agency will be improving the surface of the southbound A34 approach to the M3 junction 9 at Winchester.
Work will take place over three nights from Monday March 4.
The southbound A34 will be closed from Three Maids Hill to the M3 junction 9 roundabout with a fully signed diversion through Winchester via the B3420, B3330, Wales Street and Easton Lane.
Traffic heading south on the A33 will be diverted onto the B3047 towards Winchester where they will join the main diversion back to junction 9.
Project manager Guy Watts said: “This work will improve safety by increasing the skid resistance at the A34 approach to the M3 at junction 9. We have planned this work to take place overnight between 10pm-6am to keep disruption to a minimum. I would advise road users wishing to use this route to plan their journeys to avoid delays.”
