Police appeal for witnesses after spate of burglaries in Hampshire village
POLICE are investigating a spate of burglaries in a Hampshire village.
Three properties were burgled in the Medstead area on Wednesday (February 13).
Thieves made off with electrical items and jewellery, and police believe the burglaries could be linked to five others that took place in Petersfield the week before.
PC Amy Smith said: “I would like to speak to anyone that saw a grey or silver VW Golf in the Medstead area on Wednesday, February 13, which appeared out of place, or to anyone that was stopped by someone who was not from the area and asked for directions.”
The Medstead burglaries took place at Paice Lane, Hattingely Road and West End between 9.30am and 4pm.
Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to contact PC Smith at Alton police station by phoning 101. Mini-Com users can call the police on 18001 101.
Information can also be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
