WINCHESTER HMV has escaped closure for now after it was not on a list of 66 stores to shut across the country.
Administrators Deloitte today (Feb 7) revealed the doomed shops, with the majority in the North.
The affected stores employ 930 staff while the company cut 190 jobs from its head office and distribution network last week.
No fixed date has been set for the closures and the shops will continue to trade in the meantime.
Nick Edwards, joint administrator at Deloitte, said: “This step has been taken in order to enhance the prospects of securing the business' future as a going concern.
"We continue to receive strong support from staff and are extremely grateful to them for their commitment during an understandably difficult period. All other key stakeholders remain very supportive and I continue to be hopeful of securing a future for the restructured business."
HMV entered administration in January after struggling to compete with online retailers and digital sales.
