TWO Winchester sporting heroes went back to school recently.

Hampshire Cricket Club (HCC) captain Jimmy Adams and Olympic hockey player Rob Moore returned to Twyford Prep School where they studied in the early 1990s.

The pair were joined by HCC first team coach Giles White and together held coaching sessions before answering children’s questions.

Twyford Prep head of sport, Gregg Lewis, said: “It was fantastic for the children to meet two such humble and dedicated sports people. Meeting Jimmy and Rob has shown them what is possible with the right attitude and hard-work. You couldn’t find two better role models.”

Jimmy represented England at under-15 and under-19 level and last year led his team to victory in the Friend’s Provident Twenty20 and CB40 cups.

Rob is one of England and Great Britain’s most capped hockey players with more than 230 appearances, including the Athens, Beijing and London Olympics.
