A HOMELESS teenager was due to appear at crown court next week on arson charges at a Winchester church.
Andrew Richardson, 18, of no fixed abode, has been charged with arson and criminal damage between December 21-23 at St Bartholomew’s church, in King Alfred Place, Hyde.
Extensive damage was caused inside the building including to a table, pew, Christmas tree, stained glass window and kneeling pads, magistrates at Basingstoke heard last Wednesday. (JAN2)
Richardson is also alleged to have caused criminal damage to doors at St Peter’s Church in Jewry Street and also entering the church with intent to steal.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Winchester crown Court on Tuesday January 15.
