THE CHILDREN’S ward of Royal Hampshire County Hospital was full of silly jokes, show-stopping surprises and early Christmas treats last week (Thursday December 20).

Princess Jasmine, played by Felicity McCormack, the Empress, played by Kali Hughes and Widow Twankey played by Julian Eardley from this year’s production of Aladdin at the Theatre Royal Winchester spent the day lifting Northbrook Ward’s mood.

They arrived with chocolate and plenty of games to play with the children who have not yet been sent home for Christmas and spoke to parents hoping to lift everyone’s spirits for the holidays.

A spokeswoman for the theatre said: “It’s something that the cast love to do, especially when the children are feeling unwell, it’s a really rewarding visit for them.”

A trip taken every year by the pantomime cast to lighten the hearts of many children, these excitable characters filled the hospital ward with laughter - just in time for Christmas.
