A WINCHESTER man is awaiting sentence for an assault and theft.

Jose Jesus, 41, of Peninsula Road, West Hill, admitted attacking Amit Singh, being drunk and disorderly in Boots on Winchester High Street and stealing two hooded tops, worth £72, from University of Winchester Student Union, all on October 30.

Magistrates at Basingstoke adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report and granted Jesus unconditional bail to return on January 17.
